Lefferts Shul in Crown Heights will mark Yud Gimmel Tammuz this Sunday with a Siyum Sefer Torah celebrating the Frierdiker Rebbe’s geulah.

With Yud Beis Tammuz falling out on Shabbos, the time to fulfill the Rebbe’s annual call for the day is today, Friday.

An oft-repeated teaching of the Rebbe was the Baal Shem Tov’s saying that from everything one sees or hears, one must derive a lesson in the service of Hashem. In a yechidus with a couple, the Rebbe drew two lessons from a computer of the time.

This year, elementary students in Beis Chaya Mushka Crown Heights learned the 12 Pessukim in-depth, through original curricula, songs, crafts, and games. To culminate this year of learning, the students, guided by their dedicated Mechanchos, prepared an outstanding expo and performance to bring the Pessukim to life.

More than 80 years after the passing of the Rebbe’s uncle, his identity, photograph, and even his name have finally come to light. The older brother-in-law of the Rebbe’s father, Harav Levi Yitzchak, had remained virtually unknown until a New Jersey shliach discovered a great-granddaughter in his community.
