Back to Cheder: 1,100 Talmidim Start New Year at Oholei Torah

The halls of Oholei Torah came alive as over 1,100 talmidim began a new Shnas Halimudim across the Cheder and Mechina divisions, filling the classrooms with the vibrant sounds of Torah and tefillah.

Cheder Oholei Torah warmly welcomed talmidim in grades 1 through 7 for a year of growth in Torah, Yiras Shamayim, and Chassidishe chinuch. The talmidim entered their classrooms with excitement, reconnecting with friends and meeting the devoted Rebbeim who will guide and inspire them throughout the year.

At the Troy Avenue campus, the Mechina welcomed its 8th grade talmidim as they began this important stage of preparation for Mesivta. Through a strong focus on Nigleh, Chassidus, personal responsibility, and disciplined learning, the Mechina provides a structured and uplifting environment in which every talmid is encouraged to reach his fullest potential.

A tremendous Yasher Koach goes to the Menahalim, Rabbi Meir Shimshoni, Grades 1 and 2; Rabbi Yossi Evers, Grades 3 through 5; Rabbi Eli Simpson, Grades 6 and 7; and Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Wilhelm, Mechina, together with the dedicated mechanchim who invested significant time and effort preparing their classrooms and programs to welcome the talmidim and begin the year successfully. 

The successful opening followed weeks of extensive preparation throughout the summer. The operations department, led by Director of Operations R’ Hersh Meilech Rosenfeld, worked tirelessly to prepare the buildings, classrooms, and campuses to welcome the talmidim.

Behind the scenes, the financial office, led by Rabbi Dov Klyne, worked extensively on staff onboarding, payroll, and the financial arrangements needed for the new year. The registration office, led by Rabbi Sholom Rosenfeld, together with R’ Yanky Vorcheimer and Mrs. Moussia Mondshine, carefully coordinated with families, processed registrations, and organized student records to help ensure a smooth opening for every talmid.

With 1,103 talmidim learning across Cheder and Mechina, the new year begins with tremendous energy and anticipation for a year filled with learning, growth, and meaningful accomplishments.
