Hundreds gathered at Moscow’s largest shul late Motzei Shabbos for a farbrengen followed by Selichos led by Rabbi Binyomin Markowitz.

The famous annual pre-selichos farbrengen with Rabbi Sholom Charitonov, held in the Slavin residence near 770, was streamed live on Anash.org, allowing many hundreds of chassidim from around the world to participate.

For the 5th year, a local initiative is organizing people to go and blow Shofar in the homes of those in Crown Heights who are not able to go to shul for Tekias Shofar.

Hundreds packed the Rebbe’s room at 770 Eastern Parkway for the first selichos of the year. The overflow crowd spilled out into the foyer area and outside the building.

A group of visitors from Russia, headed by Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar, gathered for the first selichos in the Rebbe‘s home on President Street, where they were joined by Crown Heights locals. Chazzan Zalman Baumgarten led the selichos.

Following the conclusion of Shabbos, 770 began filling up again, as bochurim and anash gathered to prepare for the first night of selichos by joining a chassidishe farbrengen.

As the clock neared 1 AM, residents of Crown Heights gathered at their local shuls to recite the first Selichos of 5783.

Chassidim from near and far gathered late Motzei Shabbos at the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens, NY to recite the first selichos and pray for a good year.

Thousands of anash, bochurim, shluchim and guests from all over filled the main zal of 770 at 1:00 AM on Motzei Shabbos to recite the first selichos preparing for Rosh Hashana 5784.

Many hundreds of Shluchim, anash and bochurim, including a large group from Moscow led by Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar, spent an uplifting Shabbos Selichos near the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens.
