As is customary, a Kinus Torah was held in 770 Eastern Parkway following the Yom Tov of Sukkos. Speakers included Rabbi Zalman Labkowsky, Rabbi Avraham Boruch Pevzner, Rabbi Mendel Groner, Rabbi Shmaryahu Labkowsky, Rabbi Tzvi Telsner, Rabbi Sholom Ber Shuchat, and Rabbi Nissim Lagziel.

Mrs. Bracha Levertov, a longtime Crown Heights resident who served as mikvah director and attendant, including preparing the mikvah for the Rebbe, was a member of the chevra kadisha, and did kindness for so many, passed away on Sunday, 25 Tishrei.

Reb Shneur Zalman Fradkin, known as the “Gaon of Lublin” or by his sefer “Toras Chesed”, was a chossid of the Tzemach Tzedek and an exceptional genius. The seforim seller only allowed him to look at the cover pages, since once he flipped through a sefer, he knew it by heart.
