A Conversation at Montefiore Cemetery on a Frosty Yud Shevat

The car pulled up at the side-entrance of the cemetery on Francis Lewis Boulevard, and I climbed out into the biting wind of a bitterly cold January day. Clearly, at the Ohel of the Rebbe, there are more important things to think about than the weather, so I immediately headed for the entrance in order to proceed to the Ohel. To my surprise, the gates were closed.

Quick Thinking Had Bochurim Back to Learning in No Time

Despite the confusion and disruption at 770 following the ramming attack and the unexpected evacuation of 770 earlier in the evening, the talmidim hashluchim from Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch of Queens and Cincinnati organized an impromptu seder sichos at the Eshel building on Kingston Avenue, followed by a farbrengen lasting into the wee hours of the morning.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who lives in Brooklyn, released a statement following the ramming attack at 770, saying, “We can never allow this poison to be normalized".

As the media and bystanders looked on, temporary doors were installed at 770 following the horrific ramming attack on the entrance. The doors had only been installed five months earlier, donated by Reb Yerachmiel Jacobson.
