Students of the Nigri Jewish Online School of the Shluchim Office have been taking a deep dive into all things Mitzvos with this year’s new and exciting curriculum, learning all about the beauty and practical application through interactive lessons.

From Germany to Japan, the Nigri Jewish Online School, sister school to Nigri Shluchim Online School caters to families worldwide who don’t have access to Jewish education or prefer online learning, also offering Hebrew School and Bar Mitzvah classes.

“Our daughter Sofia has been really enjoying the classes and making tremendous progress,” shared parent Mrs. Alexis Narodovich. “As parents, we’ve been very happy with the quality of education she’s receiving, thank you all for the hard work you put into an excellent curriculum!”

Along with teaching Hebrew reading skills and Yomim Tovim, this year’s curriculum brought each student into the powerful world of Mitzvos. Beginning with understanding what exactly a Mitzvah is and how every Mitzvah strengthens our connection with Hashem, the students came away with a deep understanding of what Mitzvot are.

“Working with children that have little or minimal connection to Judaism is unique in its own right,” remarked teacher Morah Bryna Cohen. “It’s so special to connect with children around the globe for the sole purpose of imbuing them with a love for their heritage and seeing this pride in each child’s eyes. We teach an array of topics that come up in Judaism, hearing the children connect these ideas to their lives is awe-inspiring.”

“We have been so happy with the instruction and Lyla and Rhett’s progress and have seen a noticeable difference in their knowledge,” wrote parent Mrs. Emily Ham. “Thank you for making the entire process fun and engaging!”

“Our incredible teachers have done a fabulous job on giving over the material in an age appropriate and interactive way, creating exciting missions and activities based on the class content,” said principal Mrs. Chanie Hertzel. “It was so beautiful to see how so many students purchased a letter in the Sefer Torah after the corresponding lesson!”

Hebrew school director Mrs. Noa-Miriam Truxton has created an engaging, well rounded and interactive curriculum for the Hebrew School program. The classes are based on levels so each child gets personalized attention and can make progress as quickly as they can. The monthly Bar Mitzvah classes are taught by Rabbi Avremi Yarmush, where the boys gain a deeper understanding of Jewish identify and what it means to be a Bar Mitzvah.
