While the rest of the world was occupied with preparing their tanks for the ‘Yud Alef Nissan Parade,’ Melbourne, Australia were already driving through town handling out Matzos and Shabbos candles.

With music blasting and hundreds of bochurim in 12 tanks – one more than the 11 tanks usually used for the Yud Alef Nissan Parade – a big Kiddush Hashem was made in the streets of Melbourne with hundreds of matzos given out and a lot of joy brought to the streets.

Following the official parade, the tanks headed to Kimberly, the 770 replica in Melbourne, the most accurate replica in the world. At the 770, the bochurim posed with the tanks for a group picture, after which they headed out again to destinations around the city to continue distributing shmurah matzah. All in all, over 450 packets of shmurah matzah and over 100 packages of Shabbos candles were distributed.

A beautiful carnival followed the parade, where children gained admission to rides and attractions by saying one of the 12 pesukim or reciting Mishnayos baal peh. Children also were encouraged to take a hachlata tova, and be entered into a raffle for $120 voucher in a shop of choice or for $220 to buy seforim.

Close to 500 people then gathered for a Tzivos Hashem rally, beginning with a full seudah in honor of the Rebbe’s 120th birthday, followed by singing of niggunim and the rally program.

Organizers thanked the kind sponsors: Abe Wolf, Almost Friday, Spigler family, Nagel family, Josh and Robyn Goldhircsh and family along with the A&I Tartarka family Foundation, and a special thanks to Vaad Habochurim Melbourne organising the parade and a special thanks to chabad youth for organizing the carnival and rally
