A beautiful and uplifting farbrengen marking Yud Alef Nissan, the Rebbe’s 120th birthday, took place last week in the Five Towns.
The farbrengen, arranged by a group of anash, took place in a private home in Lawrence. An amazing turnout surprised the organizers, and the house was packed with standing room only. Over 120 people participated.
Leading the farbrengen was Reb Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin, who inspired and uplifted the crowd until midnight. A full buffet was served and ‘The Early Shabbos Band’ played soulful and joyous Chabad nigunim.
Reb Sholom Mordechai farbranged about how the Rebbe stressed ‘hamase hu haikar’. He explained that a Yid needs to live with his neshama and his neshama is never in galus. He also shared many stories of when he was in ‘a place called prison’ and how he was able to live with his neshama and overcome all the challenges. He gave practical advice how to live a wholesome yidishe life with emunah and bitachon.
“The participants left uplifted and inspired,” one of the organizers told Anash.org. “The farbrengen had a major impact on all those present.”
