Following months of isolation, over 150 Young Shluchos are experiencing excitement, in-person interaction with friends, and a celebration of their life on Shlichus in a Covid-safe environment at the Machane Rivka Tzeirei Hashluchos Winter Camp by the Shluchim Office.

Machane Rivka Tzeirei Hashluchos Winter Camp began this Monday and is off to an incredible start. The first few days of camp were packed with excitement as over 150 campers arrived in sunny Florida from all across the globe, settling in and meeting bunkmates, counselors and friends.

For Young Shluchos living in remote areas, the pandemic has had an even stronger effect. Many of these children have not been to summer camp or to Crown Heights for Gimmel Tammuz or the Kinus, etc. They haven’t been with friends in person for close to a year.

“This is a lifeline for our children,” shared one parent. “I can’t tell how excited my kids were when they heard you’re opening, we registered immediately and they have been counting down the days since.”

And it’s no wonder. Walking around camp, you can hear the laughter and see the smiling faces of campers playing with friends, who seem to have not missed a beat over the past months.

The Young Shluchos enjoyed amazing activities during the first week of camp, beginning with zip-lining on camp grounds. Next came paint laser tag and swimming.

The fun continued on Wednesday, when camp went on the Grand Trip! It began with speed boating on the Atlantic Ocean with the sunshine beaming. After enjoying a delicious pizza lunch, they were off to part 2 – a trampoline park! After a full day of fun the girls headed back to camp where they took a group photo.

The girls excitedly woke up Thursday morning for an international themed day, having a blast at activities from around the world including sushi making, Kosel painting and jewelry beading.

“It’s incredible to see how every girl is having so much fun and soaking in this time to connect with other Shluchos,” shared director Mrs. Mushka Minsky. “Our staff is doing an amazing job creating this beautiful experience for the girls and are so excited for the rest of camp!”
