Weekday Rush Turns Into Shabbos Calm in New Music Video

Following a string of popular releases, Chabad singer Simche Friedman is returning to a classic, authentic sound with his latest track, “Oineg Shabbos.” The lively and traditional song is the first single from his highly anticipated second album.

Accompanying the song is a beautifully produced music video filmed in Yerushalayim. The video captures the frantic yet holy preparations for the Day of Rest. It follows the transition from the busy Yerushalayim shuk and the standard weekday routine into the peaceful preparations at home, finally culminating in the joyous and calm atmosphere of the Shabbos table.

Friedman shared his personal connection to the song and how grateful he was to honor the holy day. He noted that his love for Shabbos goes far beyond the seudos. The true beauty lies in the 24-hour pause from the outside world—a time to sit with a child, learn Torah, sing a niggun, and speak face-to-face with family. Stepping away from the noise and modern distractions is the ultimate gift and the true meaning of “Oineg Shabbos.”

The heartwarming track was composed by Chaim Altman, with musical arrangement and production by David Taub. The song beautifully weaves in a traditional Chabad niggun, bringing an authentic flavor to the melody. The rich musical arrangement is further enhanced by choir vocals from Yaakov Rotblat, Sinai Barmetz, and Dovid Rotblat.
