A 162-page teshura was given out at the wedding of Memkeh and Shainy Schmukler last Thursday in Crown Heights, containing dozens of never before published letters, pictures and handwritten notes of the Rebbe.

Of particular interest at this time of year are the Rebbe’s edits to the farbrengen of Yud Shvat 5711, the farbrengen when the Rebbe accepted the nesius.

Included in the Teshura is a selection from a yoman written by the kallah’s father, Rabbi Moshe Chaim Levin of Kensington, NY, and notes written by Rabbi Yizchok Dov Ushpal a”h after his yechidus with the Rebbe. English edits to articles in the Talks and Tales, and edits of a sicha in Russian are also presented.

Many beautiful photos of the Rebbe are also published for the first time.

In an undated note (page 69), the Rebbe writes “Many of your hints need explanation… Write without hints and place the note under the door to my room (when I’m there).”
In another letter, a woman wrote about the many misfortunes she had suffered, the Rebbe wrote to his secretaries to schedule a time for her to have a yechidus.
The Rebbe responds to a woman who asked why a woman can not be a Rebbi.
