Rabbonim, mashpi’im, friends, supporters and the board of Bais Rivkah gathered in the school’s auditorium on Sunday to begin the writing of the 8th Bais Rivkah Sefer Torah.

The Bais Rivkah Sefer Torah was initiated by the Rebbe in 5742, as part of the mivtza to have Sifrei Torah written to unite Klal Yisroel. Since then, 7 Bais Rivkah Sifrei Torah have been written, uniting tens of thousands of students, alumni, staff and supporters.

In honor of the 80th year since Bais Rivkah’s founding, the 8th Sefer Torah was begun, with a large crowd showing up to inscribe the first letters in the new Torah.

Dignitaries joined with students’ fathers and supporters to celebrate the beginning of the Torah, with each getting a chance to inscribe a letter, followed by a l’chaim and light refreshments.

Treats and activity papers were given out as well, for fathers to take home to their children, the students behind the Torah.
