After years of dedicated and consistent learning, three bochurim from Oholei Torah Zal marked an extraordinary achievement – each completing the entire Shas, with all 37 masechtos of Talmud Bavli. Their milestone was celebrated at three separate siyumim, attended by family, friends, rabbonim, and members of the community.
Dovid Wolvovsky, who began at age 14, completed the entire Shas and marked the occasion with a Siyum held this past Monday at the JLI building. The event was addressed by Oholei Torah Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Shlomo Kaplan, Mashpia at the yeshiva, Rabbi Shmulik Shur, and Executive Director of JLI, Rabbi Efraim Mintz.
A separate celebration was held in Silver Spring, Maryland, where Dovids’ family is on shlichus. That event drew members from across the community and featured divrei Torah from local rabbonim.
Mendel Konspolsky, from the Five Towns, also recently completed the entire Shas. He first marked the occasion with a Siyum in his Zal class at Oholei Torah, followed by a farbrengen at his home in the Five Towns joined by family and friends from his local community.
A third bochur, who asked to remain anonymous, completed Shas last month. A Siyum was held at the United Lubavitcher Yeshiva hall in his honor, attended by his peers and family, and addressed by Rabbi Shlomo Kaplan.
Speaking at the events, Rabbi Kaplan expressed deep admiration for the bochurim’s exceptional accomplishment. He emphasized the Rebbe’s continuous encouragement for bochurim to “horeve in lernen” – immerse themselves in Torah learning and noted the Rebbe’s request to celebrate these milestones with a public siyum to inspire others to follow suit.
