Crown Heights Community to Hold Unity Bonfire

A grand unity bonfire for the entire Crown Heights community will be held on Thursday, Lag B’Omer, at George Wingate High School on Kingston Avenue.

A grand unity bonfire for the entire Crown Heights community will be held on Thursday, the eve of Lag B’Omer, the hilula of the Rashbi.

Men, women and children are invited to the bonfire, which will take place at George Wingate High School on Kingston Avenue (between Rutland and Winthrop). There will be separate areas for men and women.

The program will begin at 8:30 PM, and the hadlaka begins at 9:00 PM.

Bidding will be held for the lighting of the bonfire, and the program will feature the lighting of the giant bonfire, a marching band, live music and dancing. Refreshments will be served.

The bonfire is held in memory of Saadia Shmuel a”h Liberow.

  1. I hope last year’s glitches have been resolved re the quality of the music, and can you have a real bonfire this year, not the lame “pagoda(ewee)-shape” from last year? Thank you
