770 Bochurim Rise as Lions to Learn Torah and to Know It

Bochurim at the yeshiva at 770 continue to immerse themselves in serious, consistent learning, with the help of the Yissachar and Zevulun program. Bochurim grow their learning with focused progress in nigleh and chassidus.

The “Yissachar and Zevulun” project, meticulously organized by Igud Talmidei HaKvutza, has concluded yet another month of extraordinary dedication to learning. Hundreds of bochurim were tested across five rigorous learning tracks and received generous stipends totaling tens of thousands of dollars in cash.

While in other corners of the world the spirit of the zman‘s conclusion is already felt, the reality at 770 is entirely different. Here, the seder hayeshiva continues uninterrupted, and the temimim remain immersed in deep and structured Torah study without pause. Even during this time of year, amidst all the other daily learning, the bochurim have continued to devote themselves diligently to their studies as part of the “Yissachar and Zevulun” initiative.

Throughout the daily sederim, the learning materials of “Yissachar and Zevulun” hold a prominent place. The special monthly booklets are a common sight on the benches of 770. In the eyes of the bochurim, that familiar spark is visible, a spark of enthusiasm and growth that can only be understood by those who’ve experienced it. The pace is fast, and everyone feels the tremendous progress made since the start of the year.

The high point of the month arrives with the challenging test, followed by the eagerly awaited reward. The stipend distribution ceremony was held at 770, and every bochur walked away with a substantial check. There is no doubt that this kind of support makes sustained investment in learning throughout the year far more manageable. The mind remains completely free to delve into and persist in both nigleh and chassidus as it should be.

This is the appropriate moment to once again express heartfelt thanks to the generous “Zevuluns,” whose support makes this valuable initiative possible in the most dignified and proper way.

The goal of all the learning tracks is to allow each bochur to devote his full time and energy exclusively to Torah study, utilizing every moment of his time in the Central Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva at Beis Moshiach – 770 – without needing to worry about any material matters.

How does it work? Five serious study tracks with year-long goals have been established. At the end of each month, an exam is held, and at the beginning of the following month, each student receives a respectable monetary scholarship.

Track One: Focuses on hemshech samech vov, so that throughout the year the students complete all the maamarim of the hemshech samech vov.

Track Two: Dedicated to halachic studies, where the entire chelek alef of Shulchan Aruch by the Alter Rebbe is learned—in practical halacha.

Track Three: Concentrates on “Girsah” studies, with one page a day, and b’ezras Hashem, by the end of the year the entire masechtas Ketubos and Moed Katan will be completed.

Track Four: Focused on geulah umoshiach studies, so that during the year all of Lekutei Sichos on geulah umoshiach are covered.

Track Five: New for this year—students study portions from chelek beis, gimel, daled of Shulchan Aruch, ensuring that by year’s end they emerge with a comprehensive understanding of the laws of Shabbos and all the yomim tovim in practical halacha.
