Rosa Kleinman, the wife of chassidishe artist R’ Zalman Kleinman a”h and the matriarch of a large Lubavitch family, passed away on Shabbos, 22 Iyar.

She was 90 years old.

She grew up in a rabbinic family in Tomoshov, Poland, to Rabbi Aryeh Leibish and Kayza Neihoiz, and was a direct descendant of the Bach and other great rabbonim. She spent the war years in Central Asia and was left without parents. After the war, she joined the Beis Rivkah seminary in Yerres, France.

After graduating, she lived in Paris, where she met and married her husband, R’ Zalman Kleinman.

The couple settled in Crown Heights, where they raised a family together. An extremely kind and caring person, she was known for her hachnosas orchim, welcoming to her home many baalei teshuva who came to Crown Heights.

She was instrumental in supporting her husband, the legendary chassidishe artist, in his art career, supporting him and allowing him to develop his talent.

She is survived by her children, R’ Aryeh Leib Kleinman (Migdal Ha’emek, Israel), Mrs. Rivkah Denburg (Coral Springs, Florida), Mrs. Kayza Zajac (Crown Heights), Mrs. Chana Friedman (Coral Springs, Florida), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, R’ Zalman Kleinman A”H, in 5755 (1995).

The levaya will be passing 770 on Monday morning at 10:30 am on the way to kevurah near the Ohel at 11:30.

Mrs. Kayza Zajac will sit shiva at 1534 President St.
Mrs. Rivkah Denburg and Mrs. Chana Friedman will be there until Tuesday night and then will continue in Coral Springs – 9404 NW 38th St Coral Springs FL 33065.
