Rabbi Mendy and Sheina Konikov, along with their son Shua, are moving to the rapidly growing city of Winter Garden, Florida, to establish Chabad of Winter Garden—the city’s very first Chabad House.
Winter Garden, the fastest-growing city in Central Florida, is known for its picturesque downtown, thriving farmer’s market, and strong sense of community. With over 500 Jewish families now living in the area, there is a clear and growing need for a Jewish presence.
Until now, Winter Garden has not had any permanent Jewish infrastructure. Chabad will be the first to establish a lasting presence and provide a spiritual home for the community.
During their visits leading up to the move—delivering Shalach Manos before Purim and Matzah before Pesach—the Konikovs met many families excited about the prospect of deeper Jewish connection and vibrant community life.
“Winter Garden is full of warmth, growth, and potential,” said the Konikovs. “We’re honored to serve as the Rebbe’s Shluchim and bring the light of Yiddishkeit to this beautiful and welcoming city.”
The Konikovs invite you to partner with them in launching Chabad of Winter Garden and help build a hub for Jewish life—complete with holiday programs, educational opportunities, Shabbat dinners, youth events, and more.
