When a popular Australian TV Program wanted to support those who support the community during the challenging time of COVID-19, they chose to renovate the home of Sydney Shluchim Rabbi Dovid and Laya Slavin.
The program finds people who deserve to be recognized and they do so by renovating their homes for them, While the family is put up in a hotel and they come back to ‘the big surprise’
The theme of the program was seeing how many guests the Slavins invite for Shabbos then and to make it more pleasant for them to do so, by brightening up the decor of the home, and the front garden.
Rabbi Dovid Slavin told Anash.org that his family were “very honored to have been chosen and to have the opportunity to make a Kidush hashem”.
Laya Slavin said she was “very moved” by the move. “We live in a real ‘Malchus Shel Cheded’ that appreciate the beauty of a Jewish Home,” she said.
