Family and friends gathered Teusday night at Beis Gimpel Chaim in Crown Heights for a shloshim event in memory of Reb Leib Skoblo, a Crown Heights father and activist.
Friends spoke of his dedication to the safely of the Crown Heights community and his work Shmira safety patrol for over 30 years. He served as the organization’s liaison to the NYPD, working to ensure the safety of Crown Heights.
Speakers included Rabbi Levi Garelik, Rabbi Simon Jacobson, R’ Zalman Skoblo, R’ Yanki Prager, R’ Arele Eichler, and others.
Reb Leib also founded Crown Heights Chaveirim, to provide the community with emergency roadside assistance and other non-medical emergency help at home or on the road.
