Family and friends gathered Wednesday night at Merkaz Avreichim in Crown Heights for a shloshim event in memory of R’ Eliyahu Botvinnikov.
R’ Eliyahu was a longtime resident of Crown Heights, and more recently of Seagate, NY. His childhood in Samarkand brought him in contact with many Chabad chassidim, and after leaving the Soviet Union, he became close to Yiddishkeit and Chabad. After living in California and Florida, he moved to Crown Heights and later Seagate, NY, where he worked in laser therapy and Hamaspik.
The gathering at the Merkaz Avrechim Shul was addressed by Rabbi Yosef Braun of the Crown Heights Beis Din alongside family and friends.
R’ Eliyahu was remembered as one who was always able to find and bring out the best qualities of everybody he met. He was very connected with the Rebbe’s Torah and mivtzoim spreading it whenever he had the chance. The chinuch of his children was always his top priority.
