Rabbi Moshe Kravitzky, a Lubavitcher chossid who was dedicated to the Rebbe’s mivtzoim, was murdered in a terror attack in Be’er Sheva on Tuesday, 19 Adar II, 5782.
In his youth, Moshe was brought close to Yiddishkeit by Rabbi Zalman Abelsky, and learned in Chabad yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel. He became close to Reb Zalman Leib Estulin, and would assist him and learn together with him for a number of years.
For a number of year, R’ Moshe served as the shliach to the Nachal Beka neighborhood in Be’er Sheva. Even after leaving the official position for personal reasons, R’ Moshe made sure to bring a new shliach to the area, and help him as much as he was able. He also ran the city’s Colel Chabad soup kitchen, where elderly and needy came to eat a warm meal.
R’ Moshe was known as a warm chossid who was dedicated to the Rebbe’s mivtzoim and inyonim.
On Tuesday, 19 Adar II, R’ Moshe was riding his bicycle on the streets of Be’er Sheva when an Arab terrorist ym”s struck him with a vehicle, killing him.
According to Israeli police, the attack began with the assailant stabbing a woman at a gas station, murdering her. He followed up by getting back into his car and ramming into R’ Moshe hy”d, before exiting the vehicle and again going on a stabbing rampage, injuring several people at the BIG shopping center. Two more victims were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, raising the number of victims to four, with several others injured.
He is survived by his wife and four children.
