Thousands of chassidim flock to Crown Heights, despite the fast approaching yom tov of
Pesach, for the Rebbe’s birthday. These guests join the throngs of locals who want
to go to the Ohel on this special day.
The Ohel bus has extended its usual hours to accommodate the growing need. In the leadup to
the Rebbe’s birthday, they scheduled 5 extra rides each day. Their buses have already taken
over 1,000 people to the Ohel and they are just getting started.
Every half hour, buses will depart from the corner of Kingston and Eastern Parkway, in front of
the JCM, from 5:00 PM – 12:00 AM, and again tomorrow from 5:30 AM – 12:00 AM.
They anticipate thousands of commuters.
“We are happy to provide such an important service,” says the Ohel bus coordinator. “Our goal
is to provide fast, convenient, and reliable transportation to the Ohel on this special day.”
The project is sponsored and subsidized by Beis Shmuel, the Minkowitz, Hecht, Laine, Katz, Minsky, and Drizin families
