A memorial evening will take place tonight, Sunday, Rosh Chodesh Sivan, commemorating the shloshim of Rabbi Yehuda Leib (Leibel) Alevsky, longtime shliach to Cleveland, Ohio, who directed the local Chabad institutions for decades.
Rabbi Alevsky spent a decade leading Tzach, where he spearheaded major mivtzoim campaigns and oversaw the printing of the first four volumes of Likkutei Sichos. He also had the privilege of serving the Rebbe’s mother, Rebbetzin Chana, and enjoyed rare closeness with the Rebbe.
Over the last 54 years, he oversaw immense growth in Chabad houses and institutions throughout Northeast Ohio.
The event will take place at the Waxman Chabad Center, 2479 South Green Road, Beachwood, Ohio, and will be streamed live for those unable to attend in person.
The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. following Mincha and will conclude with Maariv at 9:00 p.m.
