‘Just One Shabbos’: Jews Across America Unite for ‘Shabbat 250’
In an extraordinary nod to Torah values and their contribution to society, the White House has called upon American Jews to commemorate this Shabbos, dubbed “Shabbat 250”, as the launch of America’s 250 years, beginning next month.
This Shabbos marks 40 years since the Rebbe’s bakasha nafshis to use this Shabbos to prepare for Matan Torah by hosting unity events and farbrengens.

To answer the call of shluchim and community leaders worldwide, the Moshiach Office at Merkos 302 has prepared resources in the spirit of “One Shabbos to bring Moshiach” (Yerushalmi Taanis 1:1) for use in communities this Shabbos.
“Seeing the Rebbe’s call for Jewish unity resonate on a national stage 40 years later is something special,” says Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “Through the work of shluchim and Yidden around the world, let’s turn one Shabbos into a moment of real connection and preparation for the Geulah.”
The following resources are available for shluchim and Anash, offered in memory of Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky a”h, whose second yahrtzeit falls this week.
