Israel’s Minister of Immigration Ofir Sofer began his first tour of the United States with a visit to 770 Eastern Parkway and the Rebbe’s Ohel.

Israel’s Minister of Immigration Ofir Sofer began his first tour of the United States with a visit to 770 Eastern Parkway and the Rebbe’s Ohel.

Sofer is a senior member of the Religious Zionist Party known for its uncompromising stance on matters related to the integrity of Eretz Yisroel.

The minister was given a personal tour of 770 by Rabbi David Nachshon, the director of the Mitzvah Tanks and Tzivos Hashem in Israel.

They then headed to the Central Chabad Library, where Chief Librarian Rabbi Berel Levine gave them an extensive tour of the exhibitions.

The group then went back to 770, where they were given a tour of the WLCC welcome center and shown how the Rebbe’s farbrengens were broadcast to the entire world before the days of the internet.

“It is a great privilege for me to start this important journey with Chabad, to see up close the Rebbe’s shul from which he sent thousands of shluchim around the world,” Minister Sofer expressed a the end of his visit.
