Just in time for the Kinus Hashluchim, Rabbi Yitzchok (Itzik) and Chaya Schwartz (nee Arad) have been appointed the new outreach directors of Chabad of Sheepshead Bay, New York.

Over the past 10 years, the Schwartz’s have been involved in Jewish outreach in Sheepshead Bay, assisting Rabbi Shlomo and Tzippy Cohen. Now, their activities have been formalized as they join the local team of shluchim as Outreach Directors.

Whether it was Friday mivtzoim or Yomtov, mivtza neshek or mezuzah, the Schwartz’s were busy spreading the mitzvah of the day. Together with dozens of bochurim who volunteered to help them, they went from door to door, building to building, and touched thousands of neshamos, one by one, mitzvah by mitzvah.

Working together with the local shluchim, they have been dedicated to reaching as many Jews as possible of the tens of thousands that live in the area.

In addition to the dozens of bochurim who go on mivtzoim every week, many Anash and families from Crown Heights have been volunteering their time to visit local Yidden. The shluchim provide them with special mivtzoim routes suitable for families.

They look forward to continuing and increasing their activities as they assume greater responsibility in their work of spreading Yiddishkeit to the Yidden of Sheepshead Bay.

Crown Heights families who would like the oppurtunity to go on mivtzoim can contact Rabbi Schwartz at 347-564-7647.
