Fire Rips Through Crown Heights Business

More than 100 firefighters were working on putting out a massive fire that ripped through the Buggy Car Rental and repair lot on Empire Boulevard in Crown Heights.

More than 100 firefighters were working on putting out a massive fire that ripped through the Buggy Car Rental and repair lot on Empire Blvd. in Crown Heights.

The fire broke out around 10:30 a.m. at 183 Empire Blvd., a one-story auto shop on the edge of Crown Heights, located between Rogers and Bedford. FDNY quickly transmitted a third alarm due to heavy fire conditions.

Sources say that the fire was ignited by a gasoline space heater.

There are no reports of injuries or widespread evacuations.
