Fathers and Sons Fill the Zal at London Yeshiva Ketana
A beautiful atmosphere of Torah, achdus and inspiration filled Lubavitch Yeshiva Ketana London as the Yeshiva held the launch of its new Avos U’Bonim father-and-son learning initiative over the Bank Holiday.
A beautiful atmosphere of Torah, achdus and inspiration filled Lubavitch Yeshiva Ketanah London last week as the Yeshiva held the launch of its new Avos U’Bonim father-and-son learning initiative over the Bank Holiday.
After the regular morning learning and shiurim concluded, fathers from all sections of the Yeshiva joined their sons in the zal for a special learning session together. Within minutes, the zal was completely full, with every corner occupied by fathers and sons immersed in Torah.
The sound of lively chavrusos echoed throughout the room as pesukim were reviewed, sugyos discussed and ideas exchanged. The powerful kol Torah created a deeply uplifting atmosphere and reflected the strong connection between home and Yeshiva that stands at the heart of the chinuch provided at Lubavitch Yeshiva Ketanah London.
For many parents, the program offered a meaningful opportunity to spend time inside the Yeshiva environment and experience firsthand the warmth, energy and dedication that their sons encounter each day.
The initiative also strengthened the connection between parents and the hanhalla, reinforcing the shared commitment to the talmidim’s growth in Torah, middos and Yiras Shomayim.
Later in the day, despite the exceptionally warm weather, several bochurim headed to West Hampstead for mivtzoim activities, offering passers-by the opportunity to put on tefillin and engage in friendly conversation.
A number of people responded warmly, and in one especially touching moment, one of the bochurim lifted the spirits of a passer-by through music and interaction, bringing an added sense of simcha and connection to the afternoon.
Afterwards, a few of the bochurim who had participated in mivtzoim spent some relaxed time together playing football on a local green in Hampstead Garden Suburb. The informal time together created a strong sense of achdus and camaraderie among the boys before they later sat down together to enjoy some pizza from a nearby restaurant.
From a zal filled with Torah learning to mivtzoim on the streets of London and time spent together afterwards, the day captured the unique blend of Torah, achdus and hafotzas hamayanos that Lubavitch Yeshiva Ketanah London strives to instil in its talmidim.
Parents and participants alike expressed hope that the new Avos U’Bonim initiative will continue as a regular part of Yeshiva life.
