Shliach Rabbi Isser Lubecki, who works with the hearing impaired in France, celebrated his 31st birthday with a Siyum Hashas in sign language.
Despite his own disability, through incredible determination and perseverance Rabbi Lubecki finished the Shas for the second time, at a small farbrengen joined by his friends and family.
The event has held with the assistance of Beth Siman, an association that aims to integrate Jewish the hearing impaired into the community by giving them access to Torah study and helping children acquire a Jewish education.
Rabbi Lubecki works with Jewish students as part of Chabad’s Beth Loubavitch Étudiants in Paris’s 5th arrondissement, an area known for its universities and colleges, including the Sorbonne. He has long focused his energy on reaching out to Jews in the Deaf community.
