Camp L’man Achai Gearing Up for 30th Summer

Camp L’man Achai, the camp that offers children from non-Frum homes a camp experience tailored for them, has opened registration for summer 2021.

With plans for their upcoming 30th summer season, Camp L’man Achai has announced that registration for summer 2021 is now open.

Camp L’man Achai offers campers from non-Frum homes a camp experience tailored for them. It boasts over 150 acres of pristine mountain, with a 50-acre lake where campers enjoy swimming, boating and fishing as well as other amazing water activities. Their facilities also allow for many sports activities, including baseball, hockey and volleyball, as well as biking, archery and pottery.

Most importantly, for many of L’man Achai’s campers who travel from across the country to attend, the camp offers them an opportunity to learn about their heritage in a fun, warm, and safe environment with a program made with them in mind.

For many campers, this is their only real exposure to authentic Yiddishkeit, and being able to experience it in a fun environment, gives them the boost they need to grow in their own journey. Adam a typical public school kid from California, who attended Camp L’man Achai through the encouragement of his Shliach, is now learning full time in Yeshivah.

Jason’s mother had this to share about her son’s experience at Camp L’man Achai, “Living Judaism, recreation with his peers and counselors, and the independence from his family are powerful experiences for a young man entering adulthood. Jason loves going to CLA, and looks forward to next year!”

“Not being able to open last summer due to the pandemic gave us the opportunity to renovate our facilities. We redid the cabins, dining room, added beautiful porches to the cabins as well as purchased lots of new equipment for our game room, said Rabbi Yitzchok Steinmetz, director at Camp L’man Achai.

Longtime head counselor, Levi Gajer will once again be running the camp program for campers aged 8-13, and Daniel Namdar will be leading the teen’s program for boys ages 14-16.

Camp L’man Achai is about making people feel welcome and at home in a traditional Jewish setting. It strives to let every camper take part in traditions they might not practice outside of camp and give them an opportunity to build meaningful and lifelong friendships, enjoy outdoor adventure and deepen their love of Judaism.
