As part of its ongoing programs on Smicha and Dayanus, Online Smicha has hosted discussion forums with renowned expert Rabbonim this week, delving into conversation studied in the classes and bringing them to practical life.
The first one took place on Sunday, where talmidim participating in the Dayanus course joined a session to discuss the differences between Halacha and secular requirements when it comes to writing a will. This fascinating conversation gave perspectives from both sides, with Rabbi Dovid Schochet, Av Beis Din of Toronto, and Attorney Jonathan Dyrud, an attorney specializing in probate and wills from Minnesota.
Students were able to present their questions on the field based on the Shiurim, as well as based on their experience in law matters. The shiur can be viewed here:
On Wednesday, talmidim in one of the current Smicha classes, studying the Halachos of Melicha, were joined by Rabbi Yossel Marasow of Montreal, a Shochet for many years. Rabbi Marasow was able to bring these Halachos to life by describing and explaining the process in practicality and clarifying to the students the different Halachos discussed in the Shulchan Aruch.
These classes are a part of an ongoing effort by Online Smicha to create discussion on practical Halacha between its students and Rabbonim from all over the world.
