Another Man Will Start Donning Tefillin for Each Victim of Hamas

What started off as an effort to find one man who would start donning tefillin has now become ‘1,200 Tefillin for Israel’, with the goal of one new person donning tefillin for each victim of Hamas’ terror attack.

What started off as an effort to find one man who would start donning tefillin has now become ‘1,200 Tefillin for Israel’, with the goal of one new person donning tefillin for each victim of Hamas’ terror attack.

The campaign started Tuesday afternoon when Rabbi Avromy Super (Chabad of S. Luca) asked the founders of DansDeals, JJ and Dan Eleff, to help fund 30 tefillin for Israel. Rabbi Yochanon Klein agreed to help source the Tefillin and Rabbi Super made a simple Google Form to share with other shluchim.

Over the past 24 hours since, over 1,000 Jewish men from Chabad houses around the world and IDF bases in Israel have taken on wrapping tefillin every day. The “1,200 Tefillin for Israel” team has already begun shipping dozens of tefillin and is ramping up to begin shipping hundreds more over the coming days and weeks.

As JJ Eleff said on a WhatsApp when we first started this project, “Our goal is to give out 1,200 pairs of Tefillin l’zechus the 1,200 that have been killed by Hamas. One Tefillin for every person murdered by Hamas. We won’t stop until we get there.

The campaign is offering FREE Tefillin, fully paid for, for anyone willing to commit to wrapping every day.

Shluchim & Anash: If you have anyone you’re in touch with who would be willing to make a serious commitment to wrapping daily, please fill out this form for them: 1200tefillin.org.
