A Lubavitch 4-month-old baby from Kfar Chabad was discharged from the hospital after 10 days in critical condition, following being left in a car, in what his family described as a miraculous recovery.
The baby, Chaim ben Chaya Mushka, was rushed to Shamir Medical Center – Assaf Harofeh in serious condition after being left for a prolonged time in a vehicle. Paramedics who were first to arrive on the scene described his situation at the time as serious and unstable, in critical condition and unconscious.
“When we arrived, they led us to the infant who was semi-conscious after being in a closed vehicle for a long time,” they said. “We performed an initial medical assessment and noticed he was very hot to the touch. We provided initial medical treatment and evacuated him in an intensive care ambulance to the hospital.”
After several days, there was a deeply encouraging improvement in his condition, and after ten days of intensive care, during which Anash in Kfar Chabad and around the world davened for his speedy recovery, the baby was finally discharged home healthy.
The parents thanked Hashem for the incredible miracle. They also expressed immense gratitude for the global response, noting that the continuous Tehillim, Torah study, and countless acts of tzedaka and chessed performed in the baby’s merit are having a miraculous impact. As an additional zechus, a letter was purchased for the infant in the Children’s Sefer Torah, as he had not previously been registered.
With the summer months beginning and forecasts predicting a warmer-than-usual summer ahead, parents, drivers, and the broader public are reminded to exercise extra caution. Temperatures inside a closed vehicle can rise dangerously fast, and children should never be left unattended in a car, even for a moment. People passing parked cars are also encouraged to remain alert and check that no children have been left inside.
