This Purim, Give Matanos L’Evyonim Where the Rebbe Gave

Every Purim, among other places, the Rebbe would personally give Matanos L’Evyonim to the bochurim’s needs. Keren Tomchei Bochurim, a project of Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim, is ensuring that no bochur lacks the basics.

As Purim approaches, Yidden around the world are busy preparing—to hear the Megillah, finalizing Mishloach Manos, planning the seudah, and of course, ensuring they fulfill Matanos Lo’Evyonim in the best way possible.

The Rebbe often emphasized that the mitzvah of Matanos L’Evyonim takes precedence over all other Purim expenses. Before enhancing Mishloach Manos or expanding the seudah, first and foremost, one must ensure that another Yid has what he needs.

And, of course, the Rebbe himself distributed Matanos L’evyonim. Every Purim, among other places, the Rebbe would personally give Matanos L’Evyonim to Kupas Bochurim, via Rabbi Mentlick, A”H, giving funds to support bochurim and give them their physical necessities.

This Purim, you can follow in the Rebbe’s footsteps.

Give Matanos L’Evyonim—Where the Rebbe Gave

A bochur’s focus should be on his learning and avodah. But for hundreds of bochurim, that focus is interrupted by something as simple as not having a proper suit for Yom Tov, a hat that isn’t misshapen, or shoes that aren’t falling apart.

Keren Tomchei Bochurim, a project of Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim, is ensuring that no bochur lacks the basics.

Over the next month, this initiative will be distributing new suits, hats, tzitzis, shoes, coats, and glasses to bochurim who have nowhere else to turn.

These are bochurim who are fully immersed in their learning, dedicating themselves to the Rebbe’s inyanim—but when it comes to preparing for Pesach…

They simply don’t have a way to provide for themselves.

The need is urgent, and the time to give is now.

A Unique Opportunity to Fulfill Matanos Lo’Evyonim

We all give Matanos Lo’Evyonim. But this is a rare opportunity to do it the way the Rebbe personally showed us—by ensuring that bochurim, the Rebbe’s children, have what they need.

Every dollar goes directly toward providing these bochurim with essentials for Yom Tov:

$5,000 – Sponsor 10 bochurim (כל הצרכים עבור עשר בחורים)

$1,000 – Sponsor 2 bochurim (כל הצרכים עבור שתי בחורים)

$500 – Sponsor a bochur (כל הצרכים עבור בחור אחד)

$200 – Sponsor a hat (כובע)

$140 – Sponsor a suit (חליפה)

$110 – Sponsor a coat (מעיל)

$30 – Sponsor a pair of tzitzis (טלית קטן)

A Community-Wide Initiative

The Rebbe made it clear that taking care of bochurim is not just an act of chesed—it is a fundamental responsibility.

This Purim, what greater way to give Matanos L’Evyonim than by following the Rebbe’s example?
