In a special video message, Rabbi Leibel Schapiro, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah of Miami and rov of Anash in Miami Beach, speaks of the significance of visiting the Rebbe’s Ohel, how to prepare properly, and the impact of spending time in the Rebbe’s “daled amos.”
Rabbi Schapiro explains that the Ohel is not like going to the kever of a tzaddik, but a place of yechidus – a personal and direct connection with the Rebbe. Quoting the Rebbe’s own words, Rabbi Schapiro said, “The Rebbe didn’t leave us. He just moved a few blocks.”
With this in mind, he highlighted the need to approach the Ohel with the same seriousness and preparation that one would before entering the Rebbe’s room for yechidus. Spending time in the Rebbe’s daled amos creates a powerful atmosphere of hiskashrus, reflection, and growth.
“It changes you,” Rabbi Shapiro said. “Learning Chassidus, writing a pan, or simply sitting there has a deep and lasting impact.”
The video was produced by the Miami Talmidim Hashluchim and videographer Shmuly Grossbaum.
