The Igud Talmidei HaKvutza continues to push forward energetically, as the Yissachar-Zevulun learning project wraps up another month of diligence and dedication, with another month full of consistent learning, even including throughout the days of Pesach.
In yeshivos around the world, Nissan typically marks the bein hazmanim break. But at 770, seder continues almost until Pesach, with the temimim immersed in structured and focused learning.
In the Yissachar-Zevulun program as well, the temimim spent the entire month diligently engaged in their studies with vitality and a deep appreciation for the words: “כי הם חיינו ואורך ימינו’.”
This past month, the learning curriculum was divided into two parts. Throughout the month, each bochur followed his designated learning track – whether halacha or Hemshech Samech Vov– and during Pesach, the younger students learned the halachos of mezuzah, while the older group studied the halachos of kriyas haTorah along with relevant rulings from the Mishna Berura.
And after the learning and the challenging test that followed – came the reward. The scholarship distribution ceremony was held at 770, where each participant walked away with a significant check.
There’s no question that a framework like this makes year-round learning and investment much smoother and more accessible. With financial concerns out of the way, the mind is free to truly immerse in both nigleh and chassidus as it should be.
Special thanks go once again to the generous donors – the “Zevuluns” – who make this project possible and proper.
A Few Words About the Yissachar-Zevulun Program
The goal of all the learning tracks is to allow each bochur to devote his full time and energy exclusively to Torah study, utilizing every moment of his time in the Central Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva at Beis Moshiach – 770 – without needing to worry about any material matters.
How does it work? Five serious study tracks with year-long goals have been established. At the end of each month, an exam is held, and at the beginning of the following month, each student receives a respectable monetary scholarship.
Track One: Focuses on hemshech samech vov, so that throughout the year the students complete all the maamarim of the hemshech samech vov.
Track Two: Dedicated to halachic studies, where the entire chelek alef of Shulchan Aruch by the Alter Rebbe is learned—in practical halacha.
Track Three: Concentrates on “Girsah” studies, with one page a day, and b’ezras Hashem, by the end of the year the entire masechtas Ketubos and Moed Katan will be completed.
Track Four: Focused on geulah umoshiach studies, so that during the year all of Lekutei Sichos on geulah umoshiach are covered.
Track Five: New for this year—students study portions from chelek beis, gimel, daled of Shulchan Aruch, ensuring that by year’s end they emerge with a comprehensive understanding of the laws of Shabbos and all the yomim tovim in practical halacha.
