South Florida Rejoices with New Torah for Ainsworth Couple

Gallery 2: The South Florida community gathered in Hallandale Beach, Florida, to welcome a new Torah in memory of Tzvi and Itty Ainsworth AH, who perished in the Surfside Champlain Towers two and a half years ago.

The City of Hallandale Beach rejoiced yesterday at a whole new level.

A Sefer Torah was dedicated to the memory of Itty and Tzvi Ainsworth a”h, who tragically perished in the Champlain Towers two and a half years ago.

Reb Tzvi davened in Chabad of South Broward’s main shul for four years, and was the brother-in-law of Rabbi Raphael and Rebbitzen Goldie Tennenhaus. Itty was the sister of Rebbetzin Goldie.

Five hundred people took part in the festivities, including the local Ainsworth children and their families, the Fellig siblings, and Government officials, with thousands of others being inspired, standing on their condominium balconies, singing and clapping, along with over a thousand motorists on Hallandale Beach Boulevard, who opened their windows to wave, sing and take pictures.

The special Siyum Sefer Torah Truck with the huge turning crown came all the way down from Monsey, to make the event more uplifting and inspiring.

Many of the customs outlined in the famous Siyum and Hachnosas Sefer Torah letter from the Previous Rebbe in 1942, including a piece of the Torah Mantel for hundreds of children, was meticulously carried out.

As Rabbi Tennenhaus said “This Siyum and Hachnosas Sefer Torah was literally ‘over the top.’”

Already today, we have heard of Neshamos that unexpectedly were aroused thanks to this simcha.

Judging by the thousands who witnessed this event, we will hear and see the impact of the Itty and Tzvi Ainsworth Sefer Torah, for many, many years to come.

All in all, it was a most fitting tribute to two individuals who lived their lives imbued with kindness, Torah and Chassidus.
