After a night of celebration in Crown Heights, the Simchas Beis Hashoeva bus continued on to Flatbush to bring the joy of Yom Tov to other communities as well.
The buses were originally commissioned as an alternative to the annual Crown Heights Simchas Beis Hasheva. Instead of one central location, the bus brought the Simcha on wheels to every street in Crown Heights, allowing each family to join in the celebrations from the safety of their home.
But the organizers weren’t satisfied with just that. Instead of turning in the bus for a rest after a night of celebration, they decided to continue on to neighboring communities and enable them to rejoice and dance from their homes as well.
On Tuesday, the bus traveled to Flatbush. Once there, they drove around the Jewish area, stopping by each block to dance with the local residents. Local authorities helped as well, blocking off streets to aid the celebrations.
“The locals were thrilled to see us and to join the dancing,” organizers told Anash.org. “Without any organized Simchas Beis Hashoeva in Flatbush this year, and not expecting a truck to show up, they even happier to see us than residents of Crown Heights were.”
