Shliach Appointed Head of Rabbinical Association of Australasia

Rabbi Nochum Schapiro of Chabad North Shore in Sydney, has been appointed the new President of the Rabbinical Association of Australasia, representing the Rabbinate to Government bodies, and the media.

The Rabbinical Association of Australasia Inc. (RAA) has announce the appointment of its new executive leadership team, bringing together esteemed Rabbis from diverse communities across Australia and New Zealand.

Rabbi Nochum Schapiro of Chabad North Shore in Sydney, has been appointed the new President of the Rabbinical Association of Australasia, representing the Rabbinate to Government bodies, and the media.

The new executive team is committed to help advancing the education and professional development for its members in addition to providing ongoing support and resources. Plans include the implementation of specific educational initiatives to be shared with their communities, fostering a deeper understanding of the Jewish response to present-day issues.

Speaking on behalf of the new executive, President Rabbi Nochum Schapiro expressed, “we are all currently witnessing within our communities a heightened appreciation to the value of Jewish unity. In light of this, we are excited to introduce an upcoming initiative that will unite communities in Australia and New Zealand through Torah. Under the guidance of the new executive, the RAA will maintain its role as the representative voice of the Rabbinate to both Federal and State Government bodies, the media, and the community. The organization is steadfast in ensuring a unified approach, representing the spiritual leaders of the Australasian community.
