Tens of resources, companions and games for Shluchim serving the Latin American Jewish communities around the world, are now made available to the general public.
“¿CUÁL ES LA FECHA HEBREA DE SHAVUOT?”
This is a question that will have thousands of Spanish-speaking CTeeners across many different communities and countries jogging their memory. “What is the Hebrew date for the holiday of Shavuos?” Do you know the answer?
The pre-Shavuos hustle is a familiar one for Shluchim worldwide: cheesecake deliveries, all-night learning prep, ice cream parties, and more. Thankfully, there are many resources available to Shluchim to help ease the burden. Numerous Shlichus Whatsapp groups and Mosdos are heaped with Shavuos content tailored to the Shluchim’s needs.
However, the range of resources begins to dwindle for the more niche type of Shlichusin, such as the Spanish-speaking Jewish communities worldwide. Enter Rabbi Chai Kohan of the Spanish Desk at Merkos 302. Since 2015, Kohan has been helping Shluchim who cater to the Latin American communities worldwide, by partnering with Mosdos such as CTeen, CKids and CYP to create curriculums and programming all in the Spanish language.
Over the years, numerous resources have been created and made available to Shluchim, accumulating to an extensive database of hundreds of Spanish Shlichus tools. This year, in addition to making their resources available to Shluchim, the Spanish desk has now opened its programming to Lubavitchers and the general public. They are doing this hoping that it will help the broader Spanish-speaking Jewish community have a more meaningful and enjoyable Shavuos.
