This past Shabbos, Yeshivas Mayan Torah Pomona enjoyed an inspiring Shabbaton in the serene campgrounds of Camp L’man Achai, making the most of davening, avodah, and farbrengens, alongside swimming, games, and golf cart rides.
This past Shabbos, Yeshivas Mayan Torah of Pomona, under the leadership of Rabbi Nachum Labkowski, spent an uplifting Shabbos at Camp L’man Achai. It was nothing short of extraordinary, filled with joy, inspiration, and the warmth of chassidus, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of mountains and forested grounds.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Rabbi Ushi Steinmetz, as well as Rabbi Moshe Levy, whose tireless efforts made this Shabbos unforgettable. From fun sports, golf cart rides and refreshing swims, and Mikveh in the lake, the atmosphere was one of spiritual connection and wholesome enjoyment.
The boys were treated to a remarkable Shabbos experience that included homemade sourdough challahs, along with classic Yeshiva-style meals—complete with flavorful dips, chicken soup with lokshen and kneidlach made by the bochurim to crispy chicken, potato kugel, fresh grapes, and watermelon. Camp’s legendary cholent and sushi salad rounded out the delicious menu.
Throughout Shabbos, the bochurim were engaged with inspiring sichos, maamorim, and farbrengens. Stories, divrei Torah, and spirited singing filled each meal with ruach and purpose.
A highlight of the weekend was seeing the boys playing engaging games and davening in hisbodedus, surrounded by the serene beauty of Hashem’s creation.
A central theme discussed during the farbrengen was the idea of owning our shlichus, inspired by Hashem’s command to Moshe: “Shlach lecha l’daascha”—a reminder that every individual has unique talents and strengths. “We must believe in ourselves,” Rabbi Yossi Vigler emphasized. “Don’t let doubt creep in.”
As the month of Tammuz approaches, the boys learned to transition from the self-refinement of Sivan to the transformative avodah of Tammuz, turning challenges into positive forces.
May these powerful moments help bring us ever closer to the ultimate redemption—and may we merit to see Moshiach NOW, as the miracles continue to unfold.
