Satellite Imagery Confirms 100 Egyptian Tanks in El-Arish

As the Rebbe predicted: Satellite imagery has confirmed the presence of 100 Egyptian tanks in El-Arish in the Sinai Peninsula in violation of the 1979 peace agreement. At a meeting in Cairo, Egyptian officials said that Israeli “violations” would be met with violations on their end.

Tensions between Israel and Egypt have escalated in recent weeks as reports reveal a significant Egyptian military buildup in the Sinai Peninsula, in direct violation of the 1979 peace agreement. Israeli officials and military analysts are warning that Egypt’s expanding military presence in the region poses a serious security threat.

For decades, the Rebbe warned that Egypt could not be trusted to uphold peace, cautioning that the Egyptian regime had no genuine interest in maintaining stability with Israel. The Rebbe repeatedly emphasized that any concessions to Egypt would be futile and dangerous, as history had shown time and again that Egypt would seize any opportunity to strengthen itself militarily at Israel’s expense.

Today, these warnings are playing out in real-time, as Egypt rapidly builds up its forces in Sinai while threatening Israel for defending its own security.

A high-level Israeli military delegation reportedly traveled to Cairo last Friday to discuss Egypt’s growing troop and tank presence near the border. Egyptian officials allegedly responded with a veiled threat, stating that any Israeli actions deemed a violation of the agreement would be met with Egyptian violations.

Security experts are increasingly alarmed by Egypt’s rapid militarization in Sinai, which now includes three new airfields, massive reserves of fuel, and a large number of Abrams tanks—far beyond what is necessary for counterterrorism operations against ISIS.

Former Israeli intelligence officer Lt. Col. (ret.) Eli Dekel revealed that satellite imagery has already confirmed the presence of 100 tanks in El-Arish, a blatant breach of the peace treaty’s restrictions.

“Sinai is supposed to be free of all military forces,” Dekel said. “The presence of these forces, including elite battle tanks, raises serious questions about Egypt’s long-term intentions.”

Egypt has also made it clear that it views any Israeli attempt to enter southern Gaza, particularly Rafah, as a potential cause for war. Ruth Wasserman Lande, a former deputy ambassador to Egypt, warned that Cairo’s recent statements and actions should not be ignored.

“War is not a far-fetched scenario. Egypt has the capability, the roads, bridges, tunnels, and fuel,” she cautioned. “It may seem irrational because they know that Israel is militarily superior, however motivation can override rational considerations”.

Not only is Israel allowing this buildup fully aware of the dangers, but they are doing so without receiving anything in return.

While Egypt has long been seen as a strategic partner in maintaining regional stability, Israel is beginning to reassess the situation. As violations of the peace treaty become more blatant, Israeli officials must immediately heed the Rebbe’s words: Israel must act decisively upon any breach of its security, knowing that only through strength can it deter its enemies and secure lasting peace.

We appreciate your feedback. If you have any additional information to contribute to this article, it will be added below.

  1. It is no surprise to see Egypt making a large military build up, they have been supporting Hamas underground. How did Hamas managed to build these massive tunnels running from the Egyptian side of border into the gaza strip without the consent of the Egyptians. They must be aware of the construction but pay a blind eye to it

  2. Israel should have stayed in Sinai after they captured it in last Egyptian war.
Had they done so this might have ensured more stability in the area.
Similarly Israel should have cleared Gaza strip at that time.
Not to do so then has caused Iran to attack Israel by proxy!
