Sao Paulo Celebrates Bochur’s Siyum HaShas at Kinus Torah

Highlighting the post-Pesach Kinus Torah in Sao Paulo, local bochur Hatomim Menachem Mendel Fisch completed Shas and delivered an engaging pilpul in the presence of Anash, bochurim, and prominent community rabbonim.

On Erev Rosh Chodesh Iyar, the Anash community of São Paulo, Brazil, gathered at the “Beit” shul for a kinus Torah led by Rabbi Daniel Binyamin Fisch. This kinus was special as Hatomim Menachem Mendel Fisch, talmid of Tomchei Temimim Kiryat Gat, made a siyum on all of Shas.

Seated around beautifully prepared tables were rabbonim from across the community, along with anash and many friends who partook in the simcha.

The event was honored by the presence and divrei Torah of:

Rabbi Yitzchak Mishan spoke about his first yechidus with the Rebbe and the Rebbe’s demand for serious, committed Torah learning.

Rabbi Shamai Endel, mara d’asra and rosh yeshiva, spoke about the importance of learning that brings one to action.

Rabbi Hershel Begun, one of the first shluchim to São Paulo, delivered warm words of bracha

Rabbi Yitzchok Dovid Horowitz, rov of Kehillas HaChassidim, spoke with passion about the simcha of a bochur completing Shas, and how it’s a call for everyone to strengthen their own learning.

Rabbi Dovid Azulai, shliach at Beis Knesses Har Sinai, spoke with heartfelt warmth about the nachas this brings to the founder of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim, seeing the Shas completed by a talmid of the yeshiva he established.

Rabbi Yitzchak Dishi, rov of Kehillas Mekor Chaim—one of the large Sephardic kehillos in South America—who made the effort to attend and spoke about the great importance of Torah learning.

Rabbi Shmuel Havlin, rov of Kehillas Yavneh, who explained beautifully how Torah study is like marrying the daughter of the king, and how great is the level of those who dedicate themselves to limud haTorah.

The grandfather of the mesayem, R’ Yitzchak Sayag, spoke with deep emotion about the zechus to see his grandson going in the ways of Hashem, with yiras Shamayim and ahavas haTorah.

R’ Daniel Binyamin Fisch, the father of the mesayem, spoke with great feeling about the importance of educating children with a deep love for Torah, and learning Torah with ameilus, hasmadah, and yegiah, so the Torah becomes engraved into a Yid’s life forever.

The final speaker was the bochur Menachem Mendel Fisch, who made the siyum and said the hadran on the Shas, sharing a pilpul that connected the end of Shas to its beginning, based on the words of the Rishonim and Acharonim, interwoven with Torah from Chassidus.

The event brought about a true kiddush Hashem and inspired and strengthened the local community’s commitment to limud haTorah with renewed vigor.
