The Mechina Beis Medrash was vibrant and full of energy, truly something special to witness. Over 120 fathers joined their sons in Yeshiva this past Sunday, creating a powerful and beautiful atmosphere of limud haTorah. Fathers and sons learned together, delving into Gemara Makos, Sichos about Lag BaOmer, and sugyos that discuss Rebbi Shimon Bar Yochai.
The program featured meaningful father-son learning, along with engaging review questions that reinforced the material. Participants were also entered into raffles, adding excitement and encouragement to the learning.
A moving video of the Rebbe helped set the tone, inspiring everyone with the spirit of Lag BaOmer. This was followed by a warm and uplifting address from Rabbi Moshe Raitport, father of Mendel Raitport. He spoke passionately about the importance of koch and shteiging in learning, encouraging talmidim to invest time and effort and assuring them that with dedication, they will see success.
Rabbi Raitport shared a personal story of his own interaction with the Rebbe, highlighting the value the Rebbe placed on diligence in Torah learning. He concluded with a heartfelt bracha for both fathers and sons, that their efforts should lead to continued growth and hatzlacha in learning.
Rabbi Chaim Y. Wilhelm Menahel of the Mechina, greeted all father’s, with the announcement of הנה מה טוב ומה נעים שבת אחים גם יחד, connecting it to Lag Bomer. Following the speech, Rabbi Wilhelm announced all the talmidim excelling in the Halacha program, additional raffles were held, and recognition was given to talmidim who excelled in the Shoneh Halachos program. Mincha was davened together, followed by a beautiful buffet lunch held in the Mechina building on Troy Avenue.
A special yasher koach goes to all the teachers and mechanchim. As Rabbi Raitport emphasized, this Mechina is a true source of pride, reflecting a high standard of Torah education and dedication. It was truly inspiring to see such unity and commitment.
The day concluded on a high note, leaving everyone uplifted by a meaningful and memorable experience.
