In a Pesach message originally shared with the extended Garelik famiy, Rabbi Levi Garelik shares a story of when his father, Italy Shliach Rabbi Gershon Mendel Garelik a”h wanted to travel to the Rebbe for the second half of Pesach, and the Rebbe’s letter that arrived just on time.

Reb Gershon Mendel, who passed away on Rosh Chodesh Adar this year, served as the Head Shliach of Italy and Chief Rabbi of the Ashkenazi community of Milan. Over the 61 years that he served as the Rebbe’s shliach, he built an empire of shlichus in Italy, establishing tens of mosdos and bringing thousands back to Yiddishkeit.

The story took place in Nissan, 5719, just a few months after the Gareliks had moved on shlichus to Italy.

Anash.org would like to thank Rabbi Levi Garelik for graciously allowing us to publish this video and share it with our readers.
