In honor of the Siyum HaRambam and Lag B’omer, bochurim in the Postville Yeshiva gathered for a festive seudah interspersed with divrei Torah related to the Rambam and Rashbi.
The evening was emceed by bochur shliach Meir Mansouri.
The first speaker of the evening was menahel of the yeshiva, Rabbi Eli Benshimon, who spoke about the life of the Rambam. Following his talk, the bochurim watched a video of the Rebbe speaking on the topic of a Siyum Harambam.
The siyum and haschala were led by bochurim Zalman Marasow and Zalman Teichman respectively, after which Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Gavriel Levin addressed the crowd, discussing the connection between the Rambam and Rashbi.
Hershy Hertzel, a yungerman from the community, shared divrei chizuk about the importance of learning Rambam properly each day.
Rabbi Mendel Raices, a melamed in the local cheder, related chassidishe maises related to the Rambam.
The event concluded with bentching after which the bochurim went outside for a traditional Lag B’omer bonfire.
