Picture of the Day

With no time to lose, a bochur from Kingsley Way Yeshiva, still dressed in a chicken costume from the Lag B’Omer parade in Stamford Hill, London, went straight to his mivtzoim route and helped another Yid put on tefillin.

While many were enjoying the music and enaergy of this year’s Lag B’Omer parade in Stamford hill London, the bochurim of Kingsley Way Yeshiva were on a mission — one that required no costume change, no breaks, and certainly no hesitation.

Dressed in clown suits, oversized glasses, and even full chicken costumes, the yeshiva students danced with spirited joy. Their goal? To bring laughter and warmth to the faces of hundreds of children gathered to celebrate the hilula of R’ Shimon bar Yochai.

But the simcha didn’t end with the music.

Without skipping a beat — or removing their colorful getups — the bochurim headed directly to their Mivtzoim routes, where they approached fellow Jews with warm smiles, a pair of tefillin, and an open heart. One particularly joyful moment was captured when a bochur, still donning his full chicken costume, helped another Yid wrap tefillin.

“No time to change. No time to pause. No time to lose,” shared one of the Bochrim. “We’ve got to bring Moshiach. That’s the goal — that’s the urgency.”

Lag B’Omer is a day of ahavas Yisroel, simcha, and light — the kind that breaks through barriers and brings Yidden together with warmth and purpose. It’s a day inspired by the legacy of R’ Shimon bar Yochai, who revealed the deepest secrets of the Torah and taught that unity and joy can bring geulah.
