New Fence Secures the Mitteler Rebbe’s Cemetery in Nezhyn

Work has been completed on the construction of a secure fence around the perimeters of the cemetery containing the tziyun of the Mitteler Rebbe in Nezhyn, Ukraine.

Work has finished at the Nezhyn Jewish cemetery in Ukraine, with the construction of a proper and secure fence around the perimeters of the cemetery containing the tziyun of the Mitteler Rebbe.

Also present in this cemetery are the resting places of the Mittler Rebbe’s grandson Reb Yisroel Noach Schneersohn of Nezhyn, his son Reb Menachem Nochum and the local rabbi HoRav Shlomo Menachem Mendel Chein, who was murdered there in a 1919 pogrom.

The work was completed by the European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative (ESJF) led by Rabbi Yitzchak Shapira in collaboration with Geder Avos, and was made possible through a generous donation from Mr. Joseph and Penina Popack of New York, facilitated by Menachem Mendel Halevi Levin.
