With sadness, we regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Thelma (Tamar Malka) Levy of Crown Heights wife of the late Rabbi Berel Levy of OK Kashrus.

She was 95 years old.

Born to Yitzchok and Sarah Horowitz in the Bronx, NY, Thelma was raised by immigrant parents who worked hard so that their children could have as good a Jewish education as was possible in those days. Their hard work paid off; Thelma decided that she would marry a yeshiva bochur, Berel Levy, a rarity back then.

They were married in 5704/1944, and together they embarked on a life of dedication to furthering Jewish education and observance, which included New Haven, Bridgeport and Lakewood, until his passing in 5747/1987.

She is survived by her children, Rabbi Don Yoel, Crown Heights, Fruma Gartenhaus, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Rabbi Eliezer Yitzchok Levy.

Levaya and shiva details to follow.
