Harav Yitzchak Yehuda Yaroslavsky, one of the senior Chabad Rabbonim in Eretz Yisroel, recorded a sharp message warning those returning from New York to Eretz Yisroel to follow the instructions of the Health Ministry.
“It is a Mitzvah to inform on those who violate their quarantine,” Harav Yaroslavsky said, “There are many returning from abroad, and the Health Ministry instructed them to isolate themselves, they must follow the instructions!”
“It is forbidden to come to shul, and it is forbidden to gather with other people. Doing otherwise will harm other people, and is pikuach nefesh“, he said.
During the past weeks, a large group of “Kevutza” bochurim returned to Eretz Yisroel from New York due the spread of the coronavirus. Many more returned after the 1414 dormitory closed and the hanhala encouraged the bochurim to return to Eretz Yisroel.
The Israeli Health Ministry put out a special message specifically directed to the bochurim, with instructions to self- quarantine and other instructions regarding hygiene.
